Crypto e‑commerce web app

A pioneering, Next.js web app making prestige car searching and buying a breeze through global sales and shipping — paid for in crypto.

Crypto e‑commerce web app

Overview

Cryptocar.io is an online platform for buying prestige cars using cryptocurrency—with global delivery built in.

The idea’s simple: high-end vehicles, paid for in your crypto of choice, without the usual friction. The challenge was shaping that into a product that feels clear, trustworthy, and easy to use.

Little Curio came on board to take an initial set of designs and evolve them into a fully functioning web app—covering product design, frontend build, and overall UX.

Challenge

The project began with a set of static, visual designs that established an initial look and feel.

From there, the task was to carry that thinking through into a complete product experience—making sure everything worked cohesively across real user journeys, from browsing vehicles through to taking action.

There’s also an added layer of complexity with the proposition itself. Users are:

  • Exploring high-value vehicles
  • Transacting in cryptocurrency
  • Engaging with a relatively new platform

So the experience needed to feel solid and considered from the outset.

Approach

The focus was on building out a consistent, usable product from the initial direction:

Extend the design into a system

The early designs set the tone, which was then expanded into a broader set of UI components and patterns—ensuring consistency across the platform.

Design key product moments

Particular attention went into areas that carry the most weight:

  • Vehicle gallery views (image browsing, detail, navigation)
  • Listing pages and how information is structured
  • Live filtering and refinement, allowing users to quickly narrow results by key car parameters (e.g. make, model, price, performance specs and more)
  • Core interaction points that guide users toward enquiry or purchase

Connect the journey

The work focused on linking everything together into a clear flow—so users can move naturally from discovery through to action.

Build alongside design

The frontend was developed using Next.js, with deployment via GitHub Pages and edge functionality handled by Cloudflare Workers.

Work with a wider stack

Content and data were managed through a Sanity backend, alongside third-party development support.

Outcome

The result is a fully realised product that builds on the original direction and carries it through into a live experience.

  • A complete frontend supporting real user journeys
  • A consistent and scalable set of UI components
  • A more powerful browsing experience through real-time filtering and refinement
  • A live site that has been accepting orders since launch in January

Most importantly, it takes a complex idea—buying prestige cars with crypto—and makes it feel straightforward enough to actually use.
